International tax veteran Brian Abbey has joined Global Tax Management as Managing Director, International Tax.
Abbey is based out of the firm’s Pittsburgh office. He advises inbound and outbound multinational clients on all aspects of their cross-border transactions.
Abbey is especially well-versed in working with US multinational companies on US tax reform implications such as global intangible low taxed income (GILTI), foreign derived intangible income (FDII), base erosion anti-abuse tax (BEAT), foreign tax credit (FTC), and Section 163(j) interest limitations.
Dave Laurinaitis, CEO and Executive Director of GTM, said: “US tax reform and other global market factors have created an array of international tax planning and compliance challenges, particularly when it comes to the complexities of day-to-day work. We project continued strong demand for our international tax services now that the complexity of US tax reform has set in.”
“Brian has spent his entire career specializing in international tax, and is ideally positioned to join Raymond Wynman, our International Tax Services group leader, in bringing our clients tax technical depth and capacity to support their international tax needs.”
