Italy and Colombia have signed a new tax treaty in line with the base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) project.
The treaty was signed on January 26, 2018, by Italy’s Finance Minister Pier Carlo Padoan and his Colombian counterpart, Mauricio Cárdenas.
The treaty is in line with the latest changes made to the OECD Model Tax Convention, which include tax treaty-related BEPS measures. The treaty also contains detailed exchange of information provisions.
The treaty will enter into force after it is ratified by both countries.
